Cardiff City Promoted. How nice does that sound. A 3 - 3 draw, their second in a week, was enough for Cardiff to earn the right to play in Division 2 next season.

Hero of the day was Leo FW, he scored a hat-trick, his first for City, and put himself in Cardiff City folklore.

Leo scored to put City ahead on 37 mins, but York scored from a penalty four minutes later, Leo popped up again on the stroke of half time to put the Bluebirds back on course. Then it went a bit pear shaped with Lee Nogan and Colin Alcide scoring for York in the space of 6 mins. But never fear, Leo's here, the big fella scored his and City's third. Rochdale and Orient both lost and the point earned was enough for promotion.

The scenes after the final whistle were immense, Leo was paraded on the players shoulders and the City fans sang their hearts out and the biggest cheer was for Sam Hammam.

Elsewhere Swansea lost and are relegated, Tranmere and Q.P.R. were both relegated from Division 1 and will visit Ninian Park next season.

The blues have gone up. Well done. Sam Hammam, Alan Cork, Leo FW, Andy Legg and every one of the players, management and tea ladies, superb, just superb.
