City will face one of the sternest tests of the season at Ninian Park on Saturday. Huddersfield are one of the favourites for automatic promotion after their drop from Division 1 last season.

There are many other ingredients though that will make Ninian Park the place to be this Saturday.

City go into the game with a 27 game unbeaten home league run behind them. 28 will be a new record. Huddersfield and Andy Booth in particular will have a point to prove. City caused mayhem in Yorkshire when it was announced that offers had been accepted for Booth and former defender Chris Lucketti (now with Preston). Lou Macari the Huddersfield manager went ballistic claiming City had made illegal approaches and threatening to take them to the Football League only to find out his chairman had tried to sell two of his first team sqaud, a few days before the new season, without telling him.

Huddersfield at the time were struggling financially and the Chairman, a figure not well liked by the fans, was on the verge of stitching them up. They now though on the verge of being taken over.

The City fans will be expecting an improvement on the quality of football after the poor game against Northampton. A win was important after the defeat at Cambridge last week but with a team worth several million it would have been nice to see more than two passes strung together.

That was last Tuesday though. Saturday is another day, another game. There have been calls for a change of tactics, fans are not happy with the through the middle football. An option for extra width may come from Leon Jeanne. The tricky winger was left on the bench on Tuesday but must surely get his chance on Saturday.

Graham Kavanagh hurt himself late on against Northampton but there are no reports of any injuries to the squad.

Huddersfield started the season with an opening day win at home to Bournemouth. Defeat the following week at Reading was followed by 3 straight victories. The tide has turned agin though. They drew at Stoke and then were beaten 4 - 2 at home last Saturday by Blackpool and then City old boy Simon Haworth scored the only goal as they went down at Wigan in midweek.

As the tables stand now Huddersfield are in 7th place with 13 points from 8 games. 4 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats. City are 11th with 11 points but only 6 games played. A home win for City would put us a point up on the Terriers and we would still have two games in hand. Defeat would see us 5 points behind them.

Huddersfield have three players to watch. Booth for obvious reasons, John Thorrington, a highly rated young winger who has been turning in some great performances this season. Also Steve Jenkins. The Welsh international right back. Former Swansea player Jenkins said to have signed for Birmingham last week but the deal did not go ahead.

Tickets for Saturday can be puchased from the official site online, or from the ticket office by phone (0845 345 1400). You can pay on the day as well.

I will remind you again but keep an eye on www.htfc-world.com they produce the most incredible match reports. They take a while to come through but when you see the ingenuity you will appreciate why.
