The action continues thick and fast for Cardiff City. Barely 72 hours after beating Scunthorpe at Ninian Park the Bluebirds are up in Yorkshire for a tricky encounter against Halifax. Both City and Halifax won 3 - 0 at the weekend. Halifax were playing at Southend, a very creditable result.

Cardiff are going for the double over Halifax after beating them 4 - 2 at Ninian Park last September. There is a full Nationwide programme tonight and depending on other results City could go second by winning at Halifax. Brighton would need to fail to win at home to Blackpool. A draw in that game would be the best result for City. Leaders Chesterfield appear to have a "sure thing" when they entertain lowly Carlisle. 4th placed Hartlepool, who could go above City tonight are at home also to lower opposition, Torquay travel to Victoria Park abd really you can only see a home win.Orient in 5th go away to Scunthorpe and Rochdale, who were surprisingly beaten at Torquay on Saturday have a home banker against bottom of the table York.

So a City win is vital as it would seem then several of the chasing pack are in good positions to capitalise on City's misfortune should they slip up.

It is unclear at the time of writing if new loan signing Kyle Lightbourne is eligable to play tonight. He will of course be in contention on Sunday when the suspensions are enforced on Leo and Gavin.

Scott McCulloch may be called into the midfield to add some steel and with Leo and Gavin Gordan suspended after tonights game then back up in the form of Nogan or Lightbourne if he can play may be used.

Its very difficult to guess the team correctly and we will have to wait until this evening for the correct line up.

Halifax have former City players Craig Middleton and Graham Mitchell in their ranks and City will have to look out for striker Steve Kerrigan who has bagged himself 13 goals already this season.

A prediction? 2 - 1 to Cardiff, c'mon City.
