Weston will miss tomorrows league match against Colchester through suspention. The young
defender had lost his place in the squad but was called back in to cover for an ill Scott
Young on the weekend. Young is hoping to be fit to come back into the line up and play his 300th first team game for Cardiff City, an incredible achievement considering he is only 25. With players taken off against Tiverton and no apparant injuries Young stepping back in for Weston should be the only change for the vital 3 points on offer at Ninian Park tomorrow. Colchester are 1 point behind us and of course a City win would give us some daylight over them. The best we can achieve with a win tomorrow is a climb of 3 places to 5th. For that to happen Wycome in 5th at the moment would have to lose at home to Northampton and Huddersfield in 6th and Bristol City in 7th would both have to fail to win against Brentford and Bury respectively. The two teams met in Division two a couple of seasons ago when City were relegated. The Bluebirds did the double over Colchester with a 3 - 0 win at Layer Rd when new load signing Richie Humphreys scored two and ironically Colchester target Matt Brazier scored the other. At Ninian Park it was a closer encounter with a fantastic 83rd minute winner from Kevin Nugent rescuing City after Colchester had taken a 2 - 1 lead. City will be favourites of course, but they will nee to step up a gear from the FA Cup win over Tiverton. |
