There could be imminent returns to action for three of City's injured players.

Record signing Peter Thorne is in full training and nearing fitness. It is hoped that Thorne will play against Orient in the reserve fixture on Wednesday this week and if he comes through that he will be in contention for a game at Notts County on Saturday. Since his injury Gavin Gordon and Leo FW have both come into the team and have both scored goals. But of course at £1.7m its Thorne the fans want to see scoring.

The Orient reserve game could also see the first action for Gavin Gordon and Jason Bowen. The medical staff at Ninian Park have to decide if their hamstrings are up to the three hour journey to Orient and then playing action. With hamstrings forcing players out for 3 - 5 weeks they do not want to rush them back too soon. The next reserve game is not for another two weeks so apart from first team games this is the only chance these players will have proper action. Better safe than sorry though if they are not ready.

There's better news for young left back Michael Simpkins. Its thought that his cruciate ligaments have not been damaged, if they had he could have been out for upto 18 months, and could be back in 3 months.

Of course we wish all the players speedy returns.
