Newspaper
reports this weekend are suggesting a £3m transfer kitty is not allowed to be touched
until we get rid of upto 5 players from the current sqaud. The money put in place by Sam
Hammam to buy new full backs and a winger will only be released when some of the
"dead wood" is cut away from Ninian Park. We have heard in the past few days that Matt Brazier and Kevin Nugent could be departing for Colchester and Jason Fowler's name has been linked with Swansea and Torquay. Other names who unfortunatly for them fall into the dead wood category are Andy Jordan, Kurt Nogan, Kevin Evans, Scott McCulloch and Andy Thompson - all five of them along with Brazier and Fowler are on the Ninian Park transfer list at the moment. Nugent is not on the list and its thought with Thorne and Gordon injured the club are reluctant at the moment to let him go. Another name who must think his Ninian Park future is finished is Mark Walton. Lee Kendall is first reserve goalkeeper but with City's policy of not naming a keeper on the bench his appearances are limited to the reserve games. Walton's chances are very limited. City's 34th sqaud player Leon Jeanne is awaiting news on his future. The Welsh FA must decide on the level of ban to impose after testing positive for class A drugs. As I mentioned at the top the money available is thought to be for 2 full backs and a winger, surely left footed. |
