Gordon scored a first half hat-trick on his way to his 5 goal haul against Rushden this
week. I asked when was the last time a City player scored a first half hat-trick? Well thanks to those who emailed me we have unanimous agreement that two players in recent memory have completed the feat. Alan Warboys in 1971 scored a first half hat-trick against Carlisle Utd. He actually scored all 4 in a 4 - 0 win for City. The second player to achieve the feat was Gary "Basil" Stevens. Basil becuase of his uncanny likeness to Basil Fawlty. Stevens scored an early hat-trick in the early 80's as City overcame Cambridge Utd 5 - 4 on a Saturday morning before a Welsh rugby international. |
