All attention now turns to Saturdays clash at York City. You've read plenty about City needing 3 points for promotion. That is what Cardiff need to put the matter in their own hands. Three other matches have a bearing on City's promotion. City have 78 points at the moment.

Leyton Orient are in 4th place. They have three games to go and are currently on 71 points. If they win on Saturday they City need that win to get to 81 points and guaranteed promotion.

Hull City have 4 games left and can make 78 points. That will not be enough as City have a 34 goal advantage on Hull. But if they win and we lose then they will stop us from claiming official promotion as it would still be mathematically possible for them to catch us. Rochdale down in 10th place have games in hand. They have 6 to play and 6 wins would take them to 79 points.

A draw would be enough for City to guarantee promotion if Orient and Hull fail to win and Rochdale lose. In fact if all three lost just one of their remaining games then City could afford to lose all their games and still get promoted.

Mark Bonner and Scott Young are both trying hard to be fit for Saturday but there is no such luck for Gavin Gordan or Josh Low. Both are set to miss out again through injury. Willie Boland will miss the last game of the season at Hartlepool as punishment for his red card against Chesterfield.

Saturdays game at York is pay at the gate. York have a terrace that can accomodate 3,500 fans. The Minstermen are not completely safe from relegation so they will be up for the game. City have been poor away from Ninian Park in recent weeks. Consecutive defeats at Cheltenham and Darlington have cost City a fair shot at the title so its an ideal way to repay the travelling supporters by winning not only 3 points at York but also promotion.
