Rushden's
Brian Talbot was left shell shocked after his teams 7 - 1 drubbing by City. The former
Arsenal player was less then complimentary about his teams performance. "We can take nothing at all from that performance. We have to apologies to the fans that made the trip down here tonight. The only good thing is that there is about 10 or 12 contracts that are up at the end of the season. We know that we have got to change things around and we are doing so but after a performance like that all you can say was it were very poor. I think they had better players then us on the night, we can't hide behind that. We didn't have are full team out but are we looking for excuses? Or are we being honest? I mean the truth of the matter is was their players were better than we were and the level they can play at is higher than us. The performance tells me a lot about my players. We have always said all along that the league is the important thing this season but nobody wants to concede seven goals. What the players have shown me tonight is that some of them are not ready to be in the first team." Talbot went on to say that goalscorer Paul Hall took his goal well. The only plus point he could find. |
