City stay 3rd in Div 3 after todays games. While the Bluebirds were winning at Ninian
Park some of their rivals were having a spot of bother. At the top there was no change. Chesterfield won again and have virtually assured themselves of promotion. They are 20 points clear of the play off zone and unless they are penalised for their financial irregularities then promotion is virtually in the bag. It was not so good for second placed Brighton. The Seagulls started 5 points ahead of City but that gap was only two points at final whistle time as Brighton were beaten 3 - 1 at Cheltenham. Hartlepool are breathing down the necks of City and Brighton. They won again today and are only 2 points behind City and are in great form. Leyton Orient in 5th place were held to a goalless draw at home and surprisingly 6th placed Rochdale went to by a goal to nil at Torquay. The other form team making a charge is Blackpool, they have moved into the play off places with another home win, this time 2 - 0 over Lincoln. York City have moved to the bottom of the division. They were thumped 3 - 0 at home by Exeter, former City players Chris Roberts and Steve Flack (2) getting the goals. Carlisle's later equaliser against Plymouth helped move them up a place for York to drop into. |
