Alan Cork has confirmed to the Western Mail that he has been holding talks with Dave Beasant and Efan Ekoku.

Cork has virtually ruled out signing Beasant. The 42 year old is looking to play as No. 1 keeper somewhere but Cork looks to be starting with Neil Alexander as first choice keeper.

Cork said

"I spoke to Beasant about coming here as a coach and a part time player. He said he wanted to continue playing. I told him he wouldn't be first choice - Neil Alexander probably will be. In any case we wouldn't pay a 42 year old keeper the money he wanted".

On Ekoku, Cork was keeping his options open. He said

"The Chief might come, he might not, depending on how my forwards perform in pre season and whether I want a left winger. I'm happy with my present squad of 34 but the way things are going there may still be another signing, though not necessarily Ekoku."

Cork will have a chance to see his players in action when they play Merthyr at Penydarren Park on Wednesday.
