Dean Gordon marked the extension of his loan period with a super 67th minute free kick to score his first goal for Cardiff City. He scored again 10 minutes later only to be denied by an offside flag. It was rotten luck for City who dominated this game and should have won comfortably. City racked up 18 attempts at goal to Blackpool's 5 but it was the Seasiders who scored first, Mills hammering home on 65 mins. Two minutes later Gordon levelled it and City pushed forward to try and win the game. Earnshaw hit the woodwork with a cracking shot on his left foot but City come away with only one point.

The 33 year old curse on Bloomfield Rd for Cardiff City is still in place. The draw keeps City in 6th place but of the 5 clubs above us Reading at Brighton did not play and Bristol City won 3 - 0 away at Cambridge to move onto 40 points, Brentford won 3 - 0 at home to Wrexham to move upto 42 points and Stoke City produced the score of the day beating Wycombe 5 - 1 to go to the top of the table on 43 points.

City's next opponents are of course Stoke City. They are top and on todays result in goalscoring form. What a match in prospect at the Brittannia.

But as far as today is concerned it was points dropped becuase of a failure to convert possession and shots at goal into goals themselves.
