Cardiff have signed the experienced Carl Muggleton from Stoke City on loan until the end of the season. Muggleton 32, is brought in as cover for Mark Walton.

City have played without a keeper on the bench since last December at Torquay when Jon Hallworth made the teamsheet for the last time in his career.

Muggleton started his career at Leicester in 1986 and made 46 league appearances for the Foxes. While at Leicester he was loaned out on several occasions. Chesterfield, Blackpool, Hartlepool, Stockport, Liverpool, Stoke (where he played 126 league games while on loan) and Sheff Utd. Carl then signed for Celtic for £150,000 in January 1994, but after only 12 first team league games Muggleton was signed by Stoke for the same fee. He has since gone on to make another 148 league appearances for Stoke and has also been loaned out to Rotherham, Sheff Utd, Mansfield and Chesterfield.

Former City keeper Gavin Ward is the current custodian for Stoke and is keepig Carl out of the side. Muggleton is looking for a chance at first team football again and has joined City today.

The Bluebirds now have Mark Walton, Carl Muggleton, Lee Kendall and Paul Buttery as the goalkeepers in the squad.
