City will be hoping to extend their unbeaten league start to the season as they travel to Cambridge for a match against the divisions bottom club.

Cambridge are without a win in 6 league games so far and at home they have drawn twice and lost once.

Past encounters have proved to be quite eventfull. Who will ever forget the 8 man defence that held out two seasons ago. David Elleray had sent off three City players but the Bluebirds held out and in the process Jon Hallworth saved a penalty and Richie Humphreys, then on loan at Ninain Park and now a Cambridge Utd player, nearly won the game for City.

It was an incredible day.

At Ninian Park during that same season it was Cambridge who put 4 past us at Easter and virtually sealed our relegation from Div 2.

City have drawn the last three games at the Abbey. 0 - 0 as mentioned above when we were relegated from Div 2, 0 - 0 the previous season when we were both promoted and the season before that it was 2 - 2 with Jeff Eckhardt scoring an injury time equaliser that was so late the clock hade gone past 99 mins and could not show three figures.

Cardiff go to Cambridge tomorrow as a different package altogether. Peter Thorne is expected to make his debut and may play upfront with the in form Leo FW, between them they have scored 7 goals in the last few weeks. Rob Earnshaw is out so Corky may just do a straight swap with Thorne coming in.

The options open to Cork are endless. One thing for sure I would think is the back 5. Alexander in goal, Simpkins, Gabbidon, Prior and Weston from left to right as the back 4. City can then chose Bonner, Boland, Hamilton, Kavanagh, Maxwell, Jeanne or Low in midfield with Leo, Thorne, Brayson, Bowen, Nugent and Gordon up front. The strength in depth is amazing.

Hopefully we will get a better idea of the line up a bit later in the day.

City follow tomorrows match with a home game against second bottom Northampton on Tuesday. Two wins are achieveable and if that was so then a week tomorrow we entertain Huddersfield, seen as co favourites with Reading to win Division 2. If we went into that game off the back of three straight wins then Ninian Park will be bursting at the seems. Next Tuesday against Northampton will see our third 5 figure crowd in a row, for the visit of Huddersfield I expect to get the biggest of the season so far.

It doesn't stop there, after Huddersfield we travel to Q.P.R and entertain Brighton in the next 7 days.

There is a feast of great football coming up for City fans in the next 15 days. 5 games, three at home.

What a time to be a Bluebird.

On a more somber note there will be a minutes silence at tomorrows game as a mark of respect for the suffering in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. The tragedy that has hit America is awful and a minutes silence is the very least we can do. Please respect it.
