Sam Hammam has offered to "up the ante" on the football team if the go ahead is given for the new stadium.

Speaking to the Echo Sam said

"There is a lot of progress with the new stadium and when we sign the heads of agreement and the deal is legally binding I will up the ante on the football side.

Once that stage is reached I will be able to take a different view on football. Once we sign the contract I believe we will get the planning permission.

Once that is in place - a question of time - we will be able to review existing players contracts. It will also be a race to finish the stadium and build a team to match."

Its believed that Sam will let Alan Cork chose the players he wants and allow him to go and get them.

Initially Cork may be looking for a loan player to replace Peter Thorne who is out for a couple of months. Lloyd Owusu and Simon Haworth are names mentioned but of course Gavin Gordon and Leo FW will be eyeing up the position.

Which ever way you look at it its encouraging as City fans that the investment into our football club will continue.
