Alan Cork has told the Western Mail that the Spenser Prior signing has fallen through. Cork is quoted as saying

"The deal is dead and buried. We just couldn't agree personal terms. Its a shame because it would have been a big signing for the club, but thats life. We were quite close to getting Spenser but his personal terms were the problem. He's got another two years left on his contract at Manchester City and I think he's quite happy to stay there. We want to get promoted next season and I think he would have helped us in that aim, but now we've got to look at the next player. We've got plenty of irons in the fire."

Prior wanted £8,000 a week in wages but Sam has refused to sanction those costs. Its thought that would be more than double the wage of any other player at the club.
