Wow, 44 mins gone, score at 0 - 0 nothing much to report then boom.... Shrews skipper Nigel Jemson is sent off for two yellow cards in a minute. Shrews boss Kevin Ratcliffe was also red carded and ordered from the bench. The teams go in at half time with the home fans booing like mad against the referee and City fans start to think well against 10 men we can take advantage. In the first half Shrewsbury were very much in the game but their ill discipline cost them dear.

No one expected the action packed second half that followed, Shrewsbury ended up with 9 men on the pitch, three of those were also booked. Cardiff had smelt blood and went in for the kill, a superb strike from Josh Low, back in team after suspension, Leo FW with a perfect header after Low's pinpoint cross, a penalty from Willie Boland, rewarded for his excellent form of late with his first goal of the season, and Jason Bowen putting the icing on the cake with a neat finish in the 84th minute. Kurt Nogan fired against the post when he rounded the keeper to miss out on a 5th.

Low made the difference, his pace is blistering and his 3rd goal of the season will boost his confidence. Also with a confidence boosting goal was Leo. This was his 10th of the season and pits him at joint second highest scorer with Paul Brayson.

Cardiff have now scored 76 league goals this season. 10 games left and just 24 goals to reach the magical 100. We did actually set a new record tonight, just before the final whistle 101 people were logged into the chat room raeding line by line commentary. Thank you.

The night was complete when news came through from Carlisle, the Blues had beaten play off chasing Orient 1 - 0. The win lifts Carlisle off the bottom of the table leaving Halifax sitting on the trap door. Orient are now 13 points behind in 6th place. carlisle visit Ninian Park this coming Saturday and will be no pushovers, City though have more than enough to send them on a long journey home empty handed.
