| February Headlines |
City fell to an Ian Ormerod goal early in the second half at Bloomfield Rd tonight. City had the better of the first half but Blackpool came out for the second half the stronger team. 5 mins in and Ormerod finished with style after a poor Mark Walton clearance was put back into the City box. Soon after City were in deep trouble when Josh Low was sent off for retaliation. City made three subs as the game went on but Blackpool with the extra man had more chances to score. So for the third game in a row City have failed to score. Earnie has missed all three and make no mistake we have lacked a cutting edge and have been found wanting in front of goal since the young striker was injured. Fot the second game in a row a City error has led to a goal against then a sending off. Shooting oneself in the foot springs to mind. City stay third but the chasing pack are closing and closing fast. Hartlepool came from 2 down at carlisle to win 3 - 2 and get to wwithin two points of City. Rochdale drew at Scunthorpe and are now level with Orient, 3 points behind City. Blackpool stay in 8th place but are only 6 points behind City. |
