No time to dwell over the defeat at Brighton last Saturday. City make another 200+ mile journey, this time to the Lancashire Riviera and to Blackpool.

While Saturdays loss was only the 4th of the season its important not to lose two in a row and suffer a dip in confidence. Brighton made us pay for an error and I'm sure Corky has laid it on the line to the players that mistakes cannot be allowed to happen.

The Bluebirds have no new injury worries and the team will be selected from the same squad that travelled to Brighton. Dave Hughes was a non playing sub on Saturday and he will be eager to make a start as soon as possible.

With suspensions looming for Leo FW and Gavin Gordan then we may see more involvement from Kurt Nogan.

Blackpool have injury worries and will be without Tommy Jaszczun and John Hills, both left backs. The Tangerines were beaten 3 - 1 at Hartlepool on Sturday and that stopped their surge towards the play off places. Blackpool are currently 8th on 43 points, 9 points behind City.

Rochdale the team in 5th place and 4 points behind City are away at Scunthorpe tonight, City then entertain the Iron on Saturday. Hartlepool are the only other top 7 team in action tonight. They travel to Carlisle hoping to close the 5 point gap that City have on them. Hartlepool have though played a game more.

The game was originally an all ticket affair when it was scheduled for Jan 30th but with it now switched to a weeknight then you can pay at the gate. Tickets purchased for the original tie are still valid. Those who pay at the gate will have to spend £10 / £5 for concessions.

Preview from Soccernet.
Blackpool boss Steve McMahon faces a left-sided defensive headache as he prepares his team to face Cardiff City.

Tommy Jaszczun has joined fellow defender John Hills on the sidelines after he damaged his hamstring in Saturday's defeat against Hartlepool.

McMahon said: "It's beyond belief how we got nothing from the game. We had enough chances to win it, but our forwards had an off day and then we were punished for defensive mistakes."

The Seasiders will be looking to bounce back against a Cardiff side, who are suffering a slight dip in form after storming up the league with a string of wins.

Meanwhile, Cardiff boss Alan Cork has no new injury concerns.

The Bluebirds are still without injured striker Robert Earnshaw, but David Hughes completed his move from Shrewsbury in time to claim a place on the bench at Brighton - and he will be pushing for a starting berth at Bloomfield Road.

Promotion-chasing City were disappointed by their 1-0 defeat against Micky Adams' side, and they will be looking to bounce back against the Tangerines.

Assistant boss Ian Butterworth said: "We had a few chances at Brighton but couldn't put them way - so we looking to get back on track at Blackpool."
