The anticipation of Spenser Prior signing for Cardiff continues. Reports suggest his £8,000 a week wages are a problem. Sam does not want to have hig paid players casusing animosity in the changing room alongside team mates earning considerably less.

Sam is thought to be working on a bonus scheme that will benefit the players if they achieve promotion therefore keeping the basic wage at a lower level.

Prior is reported to have been in the City over the weekend with his wife. A decision could come at any minute but the club are not rushing it. The club will not make any official anouncement until a deal is done or rejected.

A happy family is important to Sam and he will not allow "Champagne Charlies" as the Echo called them to rock the boat. Sam says he wants "troopers not officers".

Sam has identified six areas for improvement this summer.

1. An increase in capacity to 20,000. This is currently happening, a new lower Bob Bank and an improved Grange End with a roof on it.

2. An improved pitch drainage system. This has already been carried out.

3. A new experienced commercial manager to be appointed before the start of next season.

4. A totally revamped official website.

5. A new right hand man who is close to the fans.

6. A new defender (Prior?), a midfielder (Hamilton?) and a striker (?)
