Chesterfield complete their FA hearing later today. A decision could be announced this afternoon with a heavy fine and a probable points decuction the likely outcome.

Chesterfield have already established an appeal date so any news that is released will probably be subject to the appeal.

The list of charges for financial irregularies is a long one. Its thought the issues under investigation are worse than the Swindon case a few years back. Swindon were relegated two divisions but that was reduced to one on appeal. Chesterfield its thought cannot be relegated but can be docked enough points to ensure they face a relegation battle this season even though they currently top the table.

The Spirites visit Ninian Park this coming Monday. That could be interesting.

Should Chesterfield face a points decuction and that decision is upheld then City would be virtually promoted already.
