There will be a new format to the FAW Premier Cup this coming season. Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham and Barry will only join the competition in the 1/4 final stages. They will then play away from home against the league stage winners / runners up.

City will not have to play the 6 games to qualify for the 1/4's.

12 teams will compete in the tournament. Aberystwyth, Caersws, Carmarthen, Cwmbran, Newport County, Newtown, Rhyl and TNS will play off in two groups of 4, the top two from each group will de drawn at home in the 1/4 finals with one of the "big" teams.

The BBC will again sponsor the event and there is again £100,000 prize money.
