Rob Earnshaw is hoping to line up with Peter Thorne and Paul Brayson in a three man attack at Ashton Gate tonight. Jason Bowen and Graham Kavanagh will be joined probably by Willie Boland in midfield. City keep the same back line providing Michael Simpkins is passed fit. Otherwise Andy Legg could step in at left back.

City's probable line up is (if Earnshaw, Simpkins and Kavanagh are passed fit)

Alexander, Weston, Prior, Gabbidon, Simpkins, Kavanagh, Boland, Bowen, Brayson, Thorne, Earnshaw.

The last time Cardiff won at Ashton Gate was on August 23rd 1969. Only 4 weeks earlier Apollo 11 landed on the moon. Its been a long time.

Our form at Ninian Park against the Robins has been equally as poor. We last won at home against them on April 3rd 1971.

Bristol City will go top if they win tonight. City need to start clawing back up the table. A win for the Bluebirds would see us leap 4 places to 14th. We play again on Friday, a further win would put us upto 11th and only 4 points off the top. Only 3 points separate the top 10. Its very tight and we need to be up there in that chasing pack.

City have sold nearly all the tickets for tonights game, close on 3,000 Bluebirds making their way to Ashton gate. Bristol expect their biggest game of the season so far eclipsing the 13,000 odd that watched them entertain local rivals Swindon Town.

This is City's closest away fixture this season. See you there.
