Atkins started his City job today. Atkins left Carlisle to become joint assistant manager
at NP at Alan Corks request. Jeff Eckhardt is hoping to combine coaching duites at Cardiff City with playing at Newport County. Eckhardt could become part of an ex Cardiff City centre back pairing if County sign up Jason Perry. Earlybird season ticket sales ended around the 4,100 mark. City expect to take a 25 man squad to Ireland. Graham Kavanagh is expected to miss the trip to allow him as much time as possible to recover from a hernia operation. He is in full training but Alan Cork did not want to push him too hard. The Echo report that Hartlepool have enquired about Jason Fowler. The only interest in the transfer listed players so far. Alan Cork will appoint two captains. A club captain and a team captain. Andy Legg, Spencer Prior Des Hamilton and Graham Kavanagh are the obvious choices. |
