Jason Fowler returns to the City squad for tonights FAW Premier Cup game at Merthyr.
Fowler has been out of action since last October with a thyroid problem. Its expected that
Jason will be one of the substitutes but will see some action. City also welcome James
Harper back into the team. The midfielder missed the FA Cup game last Saturday but will
get a run out against Merthyr tonight. With new keeper Lee Kendall cup tied Paul Buttery will start in goal. Ex City players Dai Thomas and Lee Skelly are also cup tied for Merthyr. City line up expected to be. Paul Buttery, Andy Thompson, Dave Greene, Andrew Jordan, Jeff Eckhardt, Martyn Giles, Danny Hill, James Harper, Willie Boland, Kurt Nogan and James Collins. Subs Evans (gk), Mattie Lewis and Jason Fowler. City are already guaranteed progress in the FAW Cup, with 4 wins out of four. A point tonight will win the group for the Bluebirds. But with £1,000 per point on offer the club will be looking to take all three. Cardiff's final fixture in the group stages will be at Ninian Park on Jan 30th against Cwmbran. The match is suppossed to be a home game for Cwmbran but floodlight problems have resulted in all their fixtures being played away from the Cwmbran Stadium. |
