Bassett was left pondering a decision over the weekend. Go to Leicester with Harry
Redknapp or come to Cardiff to assist Alan Cork. Reading Bassett's comments in the
weekend's press these were the only two job options he was considering. Bassett had said
other offers were around but he did not give them a serious consideration. News of Harry Redknapp pulling out of interest in the Leicester job swung opinion that Bassett must surely come to Cardiff if the Leicester oportunity had been missed but things have changed. Bassett has now become from runner for the managers post at Leicester. Not as an assistant but top man. Bassett is said to be the favourite with names like Craig Brown and David Moyes other possibilities. So as far as Cardiff are concerned its wait and see. The Bluebirds have formally offered a position to Bassett. We should know in a few days if he will becoming to Wales or whether he will be a Premiership manager in his own right. |
