City climed 5 places after todays win. The Bluebirds have at least one game in hand on all the teams above us and 2 games in hand on of of them. City have 8 points, leaders Brentford are on 13 along with Colchester and Huddersfield

The bees won comprehensively at home today, 4 - 0 over Tranmere. Former targets Owusu and Evans on the scoresheet.

Colchester are second after a comfortable 3 - 1 home win over lowly Northampton. Huddersfield were prevented from winning at Stoke when Peter Thorne, a player City are trying to buy for £1.5m , scored in the 90th minute.

Oldham, Bristol City, Brighton and Reading are all within 2 points of each other with Wycombe level on points with City but in 8th place on goal difference.

Oldham beat Blackpool 2 - 1 while the Robins could only draw at home to Port Vale. Bobby Zamora scored in Brightons 2 - 1 home win over Q.P.R. Wycombe drew a blank with a goalless draw against Chesterfield.

Simon Haworth scored for Wigan as the Latics moved off the bottom of the table.

City's next two opponents occupy the bottow two slots in Div 2. Cambridge are on the bottom, they were beaten at rivals Peterborough 1 - 0 today. City travel to Cambridge next Saturday.

Second bottow Northampton visit Ninian Park the following Tuesday (18th Sep). They as I mentioned earlier were thumped by Colchester.

The Nothampton game at Ninian Park is the first of three home matches in 11 days for Cardiff. There's even an awy trip to Q.P.R. in that time as well.

In 21 days time City will have played 5 more games, three at home and one of the aways at the bottom club. Realistically we should be looking to pick up at least 10 points from the 15. The way things are going we could win all 5.
