| Fri 8th June 2001 - Paul McLaren signs for Sheff Weds | |
| June Headlines |
Paul McLaren has put pen to paper on a three year deal with Sheffield Wednesday. The
former Luton midfielder was on the verge of joining City when he changed his mind and
followed up interest from Sheff Wed. McLaren had apparantly had a medical in Cardiff
earlier this week but was stalling on signing a deal. While City were waiting for
completion the player was talking to other clubs.
There has been confusion over the details, with no statement coming from Ninian Park the reports have been confusing to say the least. Now time to draw a line under it the player has signed for the Owls and is no longer a possible target. Des Hamilton though has passed his medical and will officially become a City player on July 1st. Alan Cork said last night "I've watched Des closely and he's a versatile player with Premiership experience who can fit at full back or midfield. But it's in midfield where we plan to use him". |
