A few players have been linked with City over the past few days. Firstly it was
reported on Tuesday that City were interested in Bristol Rovers Vitalijs Astafjevs and Nick Culkin. Astafjeves is a left sided midfielder and is
the current captain of his country Latvia. Culkin, a goalkeeper, is on a seasons length
loan from Man Utd. Neither rumour has been confirmed anywhere other than the Welsh Mirror
on Tuesday. A more likely connection has been made between City and Wolves for striker Jermaine Easter. The Express and Star newspaper in the Midlands reported that Cardiff were interested and it appears today Wolves websites are saying the player could be about to come on trial to Ninian Park. Easter was described by the paper as a free scoring striker and a Wales U18 international. Two other players who have been linked are in the news again. Leonne Jeanne has been released by Q.P.R. He was subject to much speculation linking him to City earlier in the season. He has had many off field problems. Also Ryan Greene, the Wales U21 defender from Wolves last Friday signed for Torquay on a months loan. It did not start to well for him as his new team were beaten 2 - 0 on his debut. Alan Cork has been reported as saying he will have new faces in the team before the transfer deadline on March 22nd. |
