Dean
Gordon, currently on loan at Ninian Park, is interested in making his move to Wales a
permanent one. The left sided defender has become much sharper since his first outing at
Notts County and played very well against Brentford in mid week. Gordon misses tomorrows Cup game as he does not want to be cup tied if he does go back to the Riverside. Gordons loan period officially ends on Dec 22nd but he says "There are going to be big things happening at this club - I really think Cardiff can win the league - and I want to be part of it. I can see similarities between Cardiff and the way Middlesbrough or Sunderland were a few years back when only 15,000-odd supporters turned up to watch them at Ayresome Park and Roker Park. Most Premier League teams have the same background as Cardiff City. When I first came to Cardiff I wasn't quite sure what I wanted but, having been here a couple of weeks, it looks good and I'm very impressed with the ambition. I'm hoping to extend the loan spell and, if I can impress the chairman and the manager, it could be permanent." This is great news for City fans. Gordon is a quality player and can offer so much to cardiff City. His fitness has improved over the games he has played, a point the player himself recognises "In the first couple of games I struggled with my fitness, but I felt a lot better on Tuesday and I think I can be even stronger in the next game." Dean Gordon will return the City squad for the matches at Blackpool and Stoke on Dec 15th and 19th respectively. Hopefully he will then extend his loan to stay at Ninian Park. |
