Daniel Gabbidon was a non playing substitute for Wales against Belarus today. Its a superb accolade for the City defender who has been the player of the season so far for the Bluebirds.

Wales won the game 1 - 0 with a John Hartson header. Its the first time they have won at the Millennium Stadium and a City player was on the bench when they did it.

Congratulations to Daniel for is call up and I'm sure it will be the first of many.

Sam Hammam has always maintained that Gabbidon was the best player at the club. He has told me on several occasions that he has been City's best signing. Sam's words today were

"This is a precious, special moment. One of out earliest aims was to buy players who would go on to play for Wales at the highest level. Daniel Gabbidon is the first of those to make it."

When told of his call up Gabbidon said

"This is a dream come true."

Well done Daniel. There is a new Euro Championship campaign coming up next year, I'm sure you will be part of it.
