| April Headlines |
Cardiff can take another step towards promotion with a win over Torquay tomorrow.
With City in 3rd place and Torquay propping up the football league a home win seems
certain, but Torquay are fighting for their existence. Cardiff will be giving away no
favours but don't expect Torquay to roll over. The reverse fixture saw Cardiff pick up a 4 - 1 win at Plainmoor, Rob Earnshaw scored a hat trick. Torquay sacked Wes Saunders a couple of weeks ago and now Colin Lee is in temporary charge. It is rumoured that Neville Southall, who watched City at Ninian Park against Barnet, is interested in becoming their full time manager. Southall has played for Torquay in recent seasons. City may have a couple of injury problems. Both Scott Young and Daniel Gabbidion went off injured against Barnet. Both are in training and are hoping to play. David Hughes who was dropped for the Barnet game would come straight back into the side for Young and City have either Martyn Giles or Matt Brazier ready to cover Gabbidon. It is thought that Corky would want to keep the same XI that played on Wednesday. But Paul Brayson and Gavin Gordan especially will be hoping for a start in the team. Carl Muggleton is expected to keep his place in goal. Andrew Jordan could join the squad as a defender on the bench if Gabbidon or Young are out. Torquay will be without Eiffion Williams, the former Barry striker was rumoured to be a City target when Frank Burrows was in charge. They will though have Ryan Green in the side. Green has been strongly linked with a move to Cardiff from Wolves. He is currently on loan at Torquay. Come to Ninian Park tomorrow, lets get over 10,000 and show Sam how serious we are as supporters, the blues are going up, be part of it. My forecast is for City to step up a gear from Wednesday and win 2 - 0. |
