| March Headlines |
Cardiff are still second tonight after the 1 - 1 draw at Ninian Park. With leaders
Chesterfield not playing City were able to close the gap to 15 points but unless the
Spirites have a massive points deduction its unlikely they will be caught. Third place Brighton could have gone second with City only drawing but they were beaten 2 - 1 at Scunthorpe. City are now 1 point ahead of the Seagulls but they have played a game more. The important position is 4th. Hartlepool currently in 4th stay 6 points behind City with a 1 - 1 draw at Victoria Park with Rochdale. Orient were 5th and Southend 6th at the start of the games but a 90th minute winner for in form Blackpool has put the tangerines up 2 places to 5th with Orient dropping to 6th and Southend, who lost at lowly York moving to 7th place. Hull City bounced back from last Friday's defeat at Ninian Park to beat Halifax 1 - 0 and hold 8th place. Rochdale are 9th and Cheltenham are 10th, both 15 points behind City. Carlisle are still bottom of Div 3 despite winning at Barnet. They do though have two games in hand on Torquay who are just 3 points ahead of them. Torquay did not play tonight. Their game against Darlington was postponed. |
