Cardiff stayed 3rd in Division 3 after todays games. There was little activity at the top of the table with only 3 of the top seven playing.

Leaders Chesterfield were held to a 0 - 0 draw at Shrewsbury, the Spirites are now 9 points ahead of City but they have played two games more.

Second placed Brighton did not play today, their game at home to Lincoln was postponed due to the state of the pitch. I believe that they cannot play at home for a couple of weeks until the pitch improves.

Rochdale moved into 4th place, level on points with City, after a 2 - 1 win at Hartlepool.

5th placed Orient and 7th placed Southend were both in FA Cup action while Cheltenham moved into 6th place with a 2 - 1 success at Torquay.

Carlisle are still bottom on 14 points but Exeter who are 6 points ahead have played 4 games more than Carlisle.

In the FA Cup non league Kingstonian beat Southend at Roots Hall to become the only guaranteed non league team in the last 32. Dagenham and Redbridge nearly pulled of the shock of the competition so far when they were thwarted by a late Charlton equaliser at the Valley. Orient were beaten by a late Spurs goal at Brisbane Rd and bottom of the league Carlisle lost by the only goal to Arsenal.

Our old friends Yeovil were beaten 2 -1 at Bolton, the men from the Reebok scoring the winner in injury time. York City were the other Div 3 team in the Cup today and they went down 3 - 0 at Leicester.
