A
win for Cardiff City on Wednesday night at Gigg Lane, Bury will put the Bluebirds into a
play off spot. With City in a rich vein of away form it would appear to be only a matter of turning up to beat the Divisions bottom club. I hope the players are wary of falling into that trap. While confidence is high at the moment complacency can rear up at any minute and City will find themselves being beaten. I don't think it will happen though, City are putting a string of results together and are now unbeaten in the last 7 games. The last 3 away games have all been wins and 8 goals scored in those three matches show we can go away and be an attacking force. Over the years City have found it hard to win at Gigg Lane. Only 6 wins since 1920. The last time was a 1 - 0 victory in May 1976. In fact in the six league games since that win City failed to score in five of them. As the table stands now City are 10th.

| Reading
entertain Wrexham on Tuesday night. If the Royals win they will go 5th and City would then
go 6th if we beat Bury. If Reading fail to beat Wrexham and we win then we go 5th. Either
way we are starting to make our mark on the division. The game at Bury on Wednesday is pay at the gate. There is space for 2,500 away fans and after taking 3,000 to Bristol, 3,000 to Swindon, 1,000 to Port Vale and 1,600 to Wrexham you can be sure of another 4 figure travelling support. Admission cost is £14 for adults and £7 for concessions. Its too early to report yet on the injuries to Jason Bowen and Gavin Gordon. Also Rhys Weston has now received 5 yeallow cards and will have a suspension coming up soon. Player news to follow. |
