Sam Hammam was at the centre of a row with Wimbledon supporters as he went to watch the Dons play Brentford last Friday night.

What started as a conversation between Sam and the Don's fans soon became a shouting match with the Wimbledon fans, reported to be upto 6 deep surrounding Sam, giving him a hard time and swearing at him and calling him a traitor and a betrayer.

Sam told the News of the World today

"Not everybody in the group was abusive, but some were aiming terrible names at me and I called them bastards back."

Sam was on his own and the Wimbledon fans felt the need to blame Sam for their proposed move to Milton Keynes but Sam stood his ground and argued back as only he can.

Sam thought it was jealousy coming through as he is now going places with Cardiff City. He told the paper how he'd taken Wimbledon to the Premiership and how their achievement was probably one of the greatest of all time.

Sam was upset by the ordeal and was escorted into Griffin Park to watch the Brentford v Dons match which Wimbledon won 4 - 0. Former City player Scott Partridge played for Brentford as did one time target Paul Evans.
