| Sat 5th May 2001 - Bye bye Barnet. | |
| May Headlines |
Bad luck to Barnet. The Bees lost at home today and are relegated to the conference.
They needed to beat Torquay but were 0 - 3 at half time. They came back though and scored
twice and missed a penalty but it was not enough. They are replaced in Div 3 by Rushden
and Diamonds. At the top of Div 3 leaders Brighton were beaten at Shrewsbury and third placed Chesterfield won at home to Halifax. The play off teams are confirmed as Hartlepool, Orient, Hull and Blackpool. Blackpool scraped in after winning at Darlington, former City player John Williams with Darlo's goal. Rochdale blew it by drawing at Plymouth, a win for Dale would have kept Blackpool out. Further up the leagues Reading, Walsall, Stoke and Wigan are in the Div 2 play offs. There is a full division 1 programme on Sunday. In the Premiership Coventry were relegated while Man City must win both their remaining games to have a chance at staying up. |
