Tuesday night this week hosts a full Division 3 schedule. Its a chance for City to further tighten their grip on a promotion place.

It would seem that a home win over Orient would probably put the O's out of reach for a promotion spot. Certainly as far as catching City is concerned. Orient are currently 10 points behind City and you feel that even though they have a game in hand a gap of 13 points would be too much to close.

The other close contender is Hartlepool. They are 6 points behind City having played a game more. They entertain Rochdale at Victoria Park and with the poor run of for Dale are in it should be three points to Hartlepool but if they slip up and City win then with the Bluebirds having a game in hand we could be one step into Div 2.

Leaders Chesterfield are not in action. A chance then for City to use up one of the three games in hand. Chesterfield are 16 points ahead and have virtualy assured promotion, they have a 22 point gap from the top play off place.

Brighton, City's rival for the runners up spot are away at Scunthorpe, not an easy fixture. Brighton are currently level on points with City but behind on goal difference. They do have a game in hand.

Blackpool in 6th are 12 points behind us and Southend in 7th are 13 points behind, they cannot afford to lose their games and any dropped points from them will further strengthen City's cause.

So then here are the important fixtures tomorrow.

Blackpool v Plymouth, preferred away win.
Cardiff v Orient, home win.
Hartlepool v Rochdale, away win.
Scunthorpe v Brighton, home win.
York v Southend, home win.
