Sam Hammam has again spoken of the need for an experienced coach to work alongside Alan Cork. Sam has said he is not rushing any appointment but admits the City are still one member of staff down after the departure of Ian Atkins.

Sam said

"It's no reflection on Alan that we're looking for an experienced coach to work alongside him. Brian Clough was a great manager but you wouldn't often see him taking the training - someone did it for him. And the first thing Bryan Robson did when he started his managerial career at Middlesbrough was appoint an experienced coach. The point I'm making is that every management team should be a mixture of youth and experience. You need someone who can coach the players, tell them off when it's needed, handle the media, deal in the transfer market...a kaleidoscope of things. But no manager has all of these abilities and, even if he did, he doesn't have time to do them all. I felt we lost that experience when Bobby Gould left the club. Ian Atkins came in but it didn't work, so we'll find someone else. I'll make suggestions to Alan - but at the end of the day it's up to him to say yes or no."

Cork himself is happy with the situation he finds himself in, while admitting they are a man down he's happy to be in charge and taking the team up the table. Cork said

"Yes, we're a man down but I'm not going to rush into bringing someone in. We'll bring a coach in at some stage, but we don't want the wrong one. It will depend who I decide is right. But I know what I'm doing and I'm always focused."

There's been much critisism of Cork and his techniques, tactics and man-management skills but its been said many times its a results business. City are getting the results and can step into the play off places tonight. If Cork gets some coaching help from an experienced head then we can get even better.

The crowds are coming back to Ninian Park and they will be screaming for City to keep on winning. While we all have opinions on whats right and wrong one thing is for sure. We must get behind the team and keep up the levels of support. We can do this, we can get there.
