Alan Cork has told the Echo that he has completed his pre season signings. Seven new players have joined the squad and Cork is now happy to get on with preparations for the new season. The players return for pre season training tomorrow (Thursday) and the hard work starts.

The first match the new signings and 1st team members will appear in is the away trip to Merthyr on July 18th. City will send out a reserve team for the match against Clevedon on July 14th.

Cork will continue to look for new players and its thought a striker is foremost in his mind but no actual transfer is expected until the season has started. Bobby Zamora is being linked to Coventry City as is Nathan Blake, who is also interesting Crystal Palace. City's target is now unlikely to be either player.

So the new boys are (in signing order)

Neil Alexander, Michael Simpkins, Des Hamilton, Spencer Prior, Graham Kavanagh, Leyton Maxwell and Leon Jeanne.

Over £1.8m in transfer fees and with 4 players coming on free's / bosmans we could have another few bobs worth of player as well. Only yesterday Sam was quoted as saying that Des Hamilton, still only 24, could become a £5m player.
