Cardiff City have today anounced that the club has been invited back into the Avon Combination reserve league. Its fantastic news a a real benefit to the club. It was obvious to see last season how detremantal the lack of reserve team football was to some players. Now players returning from injury or suspention as well as those fighting for a firt team place will be able to get regular competitive football.

This is great news for City and something that will surely make the club stronger.

The league in the 2000 / 2001 season included the following teams AFC Bournemouth, Barnet, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, Cambridge United, Cheltenham Town, Colchester United, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Gillingham, Leyton Orient, Luton Town, Millwall, Northampton, Norwich City, Oxford United, Peterborough United, Portsmouth, QPR, Reading, Southend United, Swindon Town and Wycombe Wanderers.
