| May Headlines |
City play Hartlepool tomorrow in the last game of the Division 3 season. Don't be too
sad, next time the Bluebirds run out for a league game it will be in Division 2. Only 14
weeks to wait. For City they only have pride to play for. Promotion has been achieved, unbeaten at home, record goals scored and a holiday to look forward to. But these guys are professionals and will play for the shirt and for the several hundred travelling fans. Hartlepool are assured a play off place but they will be keen to win to ensure home advantage in the second leg of their play off tie. Alan Cork is / was hoping to field a Weslh XI at some stage. That may not be possible with injury to David Hughes maling the task a little harder. City will also be without Willie Boland (suspended), Gavin Gordan and Russell Perrett are both injured. Matt Brazier has been given leave from the squad. After the game the rest of the boys are flying to Majorca. Matt is not going as he is getting married this summer. He will stay in Wales. Whatever the result tomorrow City have done the fans proud this year and all the supporters are now looking forward to Division 2. Hartlepool have won, lost and drawn their last three games at Victoria Park and City's away form has dipped recently so tomorrows game is hard to call. I'd like to think we can finish off with a win. For the promotion season 2000 / 2001 I'd like to thank Sam, Corky and the players. Well done. |
