Josh Low scored his 4th and what could be most important goal this season. A poor match was livened up by a move that saw a string of slick City passes end when Low fired home from 18 yards after a slide rule pass from Kevin Evans. The 3 points was all importantant. Its been a long season and we are within inches of promotion, we cannot expect to see 4 / 5 / 6 goals every game and tonight the win was all that mattered. City can and will play better and should be too strong for Torquay on Saturday. Tonight was about winning and we did that. Alan Cork made two changes to the team that were beaten at Cheltenham. Carl Muggleton made his debut after Mark Walton was left on the bench and David Hughes also missed out as Kevin Evans came into the team. Evans played in midfield with Rhys Weston and Andy Legg playing alongside Scott Young in defence. It was Barnet's 13th league away defeat in a row and they are left only 4 points above the trap door to the conference. City though are now 6 points ahead of Hartlepool and still have one game in hand. Hartlepool face a stern test this Saturday when they travel to Southend, the Shrimpers have an excellent record against all the top teams in Div 3. Last weekend they drew at Chesterfield. City on the other hand have the easier task of playing bottom club Torquay at Ninian Park. The right results on Saturday would see City needing only 2 more wins to get promoted even if both clubs win we are only 9 points from certain promotion. |
