OK, so on Sunday we were not at our best. After a promising start we were slack and we were punished. It was a blip on our road to promotion. We still have 8 games to go and 5 wins (providing Hartlepool do not go on a goal spree) would be enough for promotion.

City are on 71 points. 8 games to play.

Hartlepool, in 4th place, if they win all their games can reach 86 points, Orient, in 5th, can reach 82 points, Blackpool in 6th place can reach 80 points. Cheltenham are 7th they can get to 77 points. Hull can get to 80 points, Rochdale, 83, but it means them winning all their matches.

So 86 points would be enough, as goal difference would see us through, that is 5 wins. If Hartlepool drop points then that target is reduced.

Its in our own hands, City can take a major step towards their goal by winning this weeks two home games. Barnet come to Ninian Park on Wednesday with 12 away defeats in their last 12 games. Torquay arrive on Saturday as the leagues bottom team.

I pay little attention to the teams above us, Brighton and Chesterfield as I believe, along with City, they will finish in the top three.

Tonights action involves Brighton, the only real promotion clash is at Spotland where Rochdale entertain The Seagulls who are reported to be without top striker Bobby Zamora for the rest of the season. Should Rochdale win then City could go second if they beat Barnet tomorrow.

Can I remind you that the car park opposite Ninian Park is closed tomorrow night. Their is a circus on site and no parking will be available. Do not let this deter you from coming and make alternative parking arrangements. The game against Barnet is a rearranged fixture and the circus was allowed these dates based upon the original fixture list. Its one of those things.
