Sam
Hammam is looking to get rid of 9 City players in quick time. Jason Fowler has aleady gone, Scott McCulloch appears to be on his way to Scotland and City are hoping that Colchester will take Matt Brazier and Kevin Nugent. City then still have Andy Thompson, Kevin Evans, Kurt Nogan and Andy Jordan on the transfer list and its though Mark Walton is surplus to requirements as well. Unconfirmed rumours claim that Jason Fowler and Scott McCulloch have both been paid up by City to give them that extra incentive to leave. With Dean Gordon probably the next full time signing the sqaud must be trimmed, its pushing towards 40 players now and wages of more than £70,000 a week cannot be sustained indefinately. Sam does not want the influenece of players who will never wear a City shirt again to disrupt the efforts of the management in getting to Division 1. With talk of a Phoenix League Cardiff City need to be up amongst the elite and Sam is determined to get there. While he has come out and said that he does not think it will go ahead he knows that it probably will and Cardiff City need to be part of it. |
