Oldham Atletic's official website www.oldhamathletic.co.uk interviewed
defender Dean Holden after todays game. His comments come coutesy of the Oldham website.
Did You feel it was a bit of an injustice this
afternoon?
We are all gutted, We had the majority of the play and pushed them back into their half
for long periods. At times it felt as if we were the home side and I just don't
think we deserved to lose today.
What can you tell us about their first goal?
I was to blame and I hold my hands up. I gave the ball away on the half way line and
that led to them breaking on the right and getting the cross in for the goal.
What about your booking which was bizarre to say the least?
I felt I had been fouled and the ref never even gave a free kick for that, I had
to leave the field for treatment. Then I was ready to go back on and the fourth
official told me "On you go son", the next minute the ref has booked me because
he said I hadn't told you to come back on, it's just pathetic
Did you feel we might have got back into the game after our goal?
Yes we kept going throughout and it was a good goal for us. Dux did well to get to
the by-line and he pulled it back to John Eyre who finished well from 10 yards or so.
We really gave it our all to get on level terms.
Finally, What about their winner in stoppage time?
I was in the penalty area trying to equalise and the ball broke back to Shez on the half
way line, he kicked it forward and from where I was Kavangh handled it trying to protect
his face. He ended up racing clear and scoring but he definitely handled it. |
