City could face a battle to clinch the services of Dave Bassett. "Harry" is currently working for TV but is thought to be looking to get back into football management. All the rumours over the weekend were for Bassett to come to Ninian Park. But other clubs have eyes of the former Wimbledon, Sheff Utd, Forest and Barnsley boss. Sheff Utd, his former club are reported to be lining up Bassett to replace Neil Warnock. Warnock is the current Blades manager but they are not doing so well. Bassett is said to have watched them play Crystal Palace last week. At the moment all we have is speculation. Its thought that Sam has spoken last week to Bassett and there ar some claims that he was watching City v Brighton on the weekend. Only two weeks ago Bassett was lined up by the media for the Coventry job. While rejecting the claims he was after the Coventry job he said "I have stated that I want to get back in the game but it has got to be something that appeals to me, I have not retired and I am looking for a job that suits me." Obviously its all up in the air until we hear something for sure. |
