Its reported that City have a second Scottish player at Ninian Park. Centre half Paul Browne from Raith was reported to have arrived for a trial earlier in the week but a keeper has arrived as well.

Ian "The Eagle" McCaldon is a highly rated 26 year old from 1st division club Livingstone. He stands 6'5 and has recently been playing in the Scottish Premier League on loan for St Mirren. He has been second choice for Livingstoke this season after being there regular keeper since 1996.

Livingston goalkeeper Ian McCaldon is reported to have gone on trial to Nationwide Third Division side Cardiff City.

According to the official Scottish Premier League website, McCaldon and Raith Rovers defender Paul Browne have both been taken by the Welsh side with a view to signing longer-term contracts.

"Eagle" has been conspicuous by his absence from the Livingston squad in the past couple of matches, with 18 year old David McEwan sitting on the bench as goalkeeping cover. He is out-of-contract at Livi in the summer and having been kept out of the side by an inspired Neil Alexander all season, it is no great surprise that he is looking to play first-team football elsewhere.

Ian was on-loan at St Mirren earlier in the season, but that was knocked on the head when regular first choice Ludovic Roy returned to full-fitness.

McCaldon's agent George Wright said of the trial: "If things work out there, he will be offered the chance to sign for them immediately, but a couple of English Second Division are interested, and he may wait until the end of the season."
