Reports over the weekend suggest that Bobby Gould is looking to sign 36 year defender Ken Monkou from Huddersfield. Monkou, the former Southampton player, is seen as a quality defender to bolster up a defence that has let in 8 goals in 5 games. While Monkou's age is of concern I think Bobby in the short term will look for quick fixes to get the club heading out of Div 3. The control of Gould is not expected to be short term and Hammam will give him time to build a team of young playters but first we need to get out of this division and with money available Bobby will buy experienced players to do a job now. Bobby has been impressed with two of the trial players currently at the club. Defender Kevin Evans and midfielder Tony Sheridan have both been offered deals at Ninian Park. The third trial player Julian Dowe has been released. |
