Aston Villa are reporting today that Mark Delaney will cost the Villains £50,000 which Cardiff City will benefit from. Mark is likely to gain his next Welsh cap during the World Cup qualifiers against Norway and Poland. One more cap and the next installment from Aston Villa is due to Cardiff City. Report courtesy of www.avfc.co.uk The former Cardiff defender, yet to play a Premiership match this season, is in line to face Norway and Poland to help the Welsh bid for World Cup qualification, and one more cap activates a contractual clause that increases his transfer fee. "I've had a phonecall from Mark Hughes asking me about my fitness and and everything went well," he said. His comeback has been restricted to the reserves so far, but if he proves his knee is ok he has every chance of facing Norway on October 7 and Poland four days later. His sights are set on the right wing-back berth, but Steve Stone's form has so far kept him in the stand: "Steve has done very well, as has the whole team. But it's good to have competition and it's now up to the gaffer who he picks," said Delaney as he crossed his fingers for a return against Derby at the weekend. |
